Our hotel looks back on more than 90 years of history — and we hope it will remain a wonderful place to stay, work, and feel at home for years to come.

In our day–to–day hotel operations, we consistently make thoughtful decisions: regarding our use of energy and water, our handling of food and linens, our purchasing practices, and our interactions with one another.

Over the years, we have implemented concrete measures to achieve this — from solar power and district heating to water–saving technology and LED lighting, as well as a mindful approach to managing linens, food, and other products.

On this page, we will show you exactly what we are doing.

Responsibility in the hotel

  • Digital instead of paper: Many processes have been digitized.
  • Truly energy-efficient: solar panels on the hotel roof, district heating, and the hotel’s own combined heat and power plant
  • Highly recommended: thermal insulation, energy-efficient windows, and heat recovery
  • Goodbye, piles of laundry: Bathrobes, large towels, and slippers are available at the front desk.
  • Nothing goes to waste: We switch on the sauna and steam bath on request.
  • Simply switch off: motion detector
  • Focus on water: water-saving toilets and flow restrictors (aerators)
  • On the move: bicycle parking spaces for our guests
  • Genuinely North German: products from the region in the Haverkamp store
  • Recharge your batteries: E-charging stations in the hotel car park
